Refurbishment
Many, perhaps up to 60%, of the UK’s public swimming pools and sports centres are in urgent need of modernisation or are reaching the end of their natural lives. This is a massive problem and Limbrick Limited : Architecture + Design has long been an advocate of the potential of refurbishment as a proven alternative to new build. We have extensive experience in this field and can demonstrate that, in the right circumstances, refurbishment is a viable and sustainable alternative.
Limbrick Limited : Architecture + Design has developed its own refurbishment/new build Feasibility Study methodology, which has enabled many authorities faced with the problem of deteriorating leisure facilities to determine the most appropriate and cost effective replacement strategy. The state of the UK’s existing public sport and leisure development has been estimated to require £10bn. of capital investment to bring them up to modern day standards.
