Project Management

Limbrick Limited prides itself as being a team player. We regularly assemble and lead professional Design Teams and, especially with Local Authority clients, work with the designated Client Officer and their team, often attending working party meetings and consultation meetings with user groups. We like to create a team working relationship with our client, a mutual and frank working relationship, particularly in the early stages of the project to confirm and clarify the brief, and to fully understand particular operational, budget and time constraints of the project. This would include the assessment of risks and jointly working towards their elimination. We believe that projects benefit from this team ethos, working towards a common goal and mutual success.

Our experience and specialist technical knowledge enable us to create facilities that meet both the leisure and recreational needs of the local community and the highly technical and specific competitive and training requirements of elite sport. We have also developed a reputation for breaking the traditional boundaries of sport and leisure architecture by seeking to understand and illuminate the goals and aspirations of our clients at the very beginning of every project. In this way we are able to develop a holistic and sustainable approach to public sport and leisure facility design, from site appraisal/feasibility to project completion. We always seek to achieve ‘best’ value for our clients and have developed real expertise in the many available methods of project procurement and capital financing, including the Sports Lottery Fund and other sources of grant-aid. We constantly review and contribute to policy on these matters.

Experience and approach towards ‘partnering’ in the procurement process

An area of constant review is in methods of project procurement. Our experience has embraced a very broad range of forms of procurement through our more national perspective. This experience, along with our close monitoring of the state/mood of the construction industry, seems to be in tune with the Government’s targets, through Egan, towards more efficient and less divisive forms of procurement. Our experience over a number of years has involved us in various forms of procurement ranges from the traditional through management contracting, quasi-management contracting, design and build, develop and construct, and partnering of various types.
