ATHERSTONE LEISURE COMPLEX Client: North Warwickshire Borough Council Value: c£2.2m Completed: June 2002 Following a previous, failed Lottery bid, Limbrick Limited was appointed to advise, rationalise and submit a new bid, which was successful in achieving £1.64m, opening the door to Refurbishment of the Centre. The refurbishment and part redevelopment of the tired and dated 1970's Community Swimming Pool saw its transformation to a Leisure Centre to meet the needs and aspirations of the community for the foreseeable future. The facilities consist of: Refurbished Swimming Pool and Learner Pool New Wet and Dry Changing facilities New Entrance area, Reception and Casual Viewing area New Creche New Health and Fitness Centre The new facilities were concentrated on the Public Entrance frontage, allowing their form and design to give a new, more evocative, inviting and contemporary image for the Centre.
