At a dinner attended by nearly 600 representatitives of successful businesses in Gloucestershire, Limbrick Limited were delighted to be announced as the winners of The Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo Business Award 2006 - in the Design Excellence category - sponsored by Peel Holgings Plc.
The Design Excellence Award commends 'outstanding success and achievement by companies or individuals'.
Limbrick Limited submitted The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse as their selected project for the award (the venue of the Awards Dinner). As the latest completed phase of Cheltenham Racecourses' Strategic Master Plan, it has met all expectations and more, and has made a significant impact on both Race Days and Events and Leisure opportunities and activities, both locally and regionally.
'As for the commercial success, The Centaur achieved new revenues for the Racecourse of over £1m in its first full trading year, 2005, enhancing the quality of venues for existing events such as Festivals (sell-out for Stephen Fry of over 2,000 seats, the largest ever audience in Britian for a Literature Festival event), and attracting new business such as Sainsbury's launch of their rebranding and this year's National Trust AGM to Cheltenham.',
Edward Gillespie, MD The Steeplechase Co. (Cheltenham) Ltd
The impact of The Centaur on Limbrick Limited's business is significant, leading on to projects at Wincanton, The July Racecourse Newmarket and a New Grandstand at Epsom Downs Racecourse and has been instrumental in Limbrick Limited being awarded a 3-5 year framework agreement with the RHT Group, owners of 13 major Racecourses across the UK. |
