Stephen Limbrick's first project as Stephen Limbrick Associates won in a RIBA Competition, this set the scene for his belief that, in the right circumstances, refurbishment of existing Swimming Pools was a viable option.

This early transformation saw the revitalisation and part-leisurisation of the basic 1960's public Pool to a Centre that has retained its popularity to today and saw the elimination of a crippling annual deficit.
