Newmarket Racecourses appointed Limbrick Limited to redevelop their existing facilities at the July Racecourse.
The main aim of the redevelopment was to provide vastly superior facilities to those currently available, the central theme retaining and enhancing the magical, rustic charm of the July Course which is at the heart of its popularity.
The perimeter boundary at the back of the July Course site has been extended, giving more space and scope for the new facilities in two enclosures. The existing buildings behind the stands were demolished and the whole of the enlarged area was redesigned with new bars, catering outlets and toilets to meet the expectation of the modern racegoer.
The focal points of the redevelopment are two brand new entrance buildings on the new perimeter boundary and two new two-storey pavilions inside, combining toilets and bars below and al-fresco dining above. These pavilion buildings are linked by a structural expressive aerial walkway which adds a whole new experience for the racegoer. The July Course Restaurant, at the back of the first side-on grandstand, has been extended at the rear to double the number of covers it can cater for.
